The Thing is as close to perfect as a movie can be. Not that another adaptation would be bad (I’ve seen the first version and it’s a solid 50s creature feature) but it’s hard to see why a new version would be compelling when I can just pop my DVD in and watch a bunch of dogs get eaten by a gross monster

Regarding Hemingway: I think you have it backwards. The idea of him is thoroughly ridiculous. I mean, a cult of machismo centered on bullfighting? It’s hard to believe this didn’t seem silly even back in the day. But a lot of his writing is powerful. I concur with others on The Sun Also Rises and his short stories.

I make the mistake of frequently some DC Facebook pages, and the amount of people who acclaim Snyder for being "comic accurate" is astounding and sickening. As a DC fan, Snyder makes me very sad.

It’s a solution in the sense that decisions like this help move the needle with regard to thinking of PoC as actual Human Beings. Consciously or subconsciously, too many people don’t seem to think that is the case and seeing/hearing them in pop culture can help to change that.
