The Thing is as close to perfect as a movie can be. Not that another adaptation would be bad (I’ve seen the first version and it’s a solid 50s creature feature) but it’s hard to see why a new version would be compelling when I can just pop my DVD in and watch a bunch of dogs get eaten by a gross monster

Regarding Hemingway: I think you have it backwards. The idea of him is thoroughly ridiculous. I mean, a cult of machismo centered on bullfighting? It’s hard to believe this didn’t seem silly even back in the day. But a lot of his writing is powerful. I concur with others on The Sun Also Rises and his short stories.

I think it’s because you physically cannot throw them away. They’ll just reappear if you try.

Ennis’ comic series is far shittier than the show.

Didn’t know she was on this season. Psyched for that...

Plus, the whole “Batman of Africa” is fucking dumb.

Fine, I’ll say it: Batman makes more sense as a black guy. The corruption and ineptness of most of the GCPD is way more reflective of the black experience of policing. Does the idea that you have to dispense street justice yourself because you’re not getting any help from the system really sound like the perspective

My favorite Coheed & Cambria memory is them getting booed off the stage as an opening act for a band that no longer exist (theStart). This was around 2003? There were maybe 20 people at the show and Coheed came on stage with a shitty attitude, were complete assholes to the crowd (which is always smart to do when the

I make the mistake of frequently some DC Facebook pages, and the amount of people who acclaim Snyder for being "comic accurate" is astounding and sickening. As a DC fan, Snyder makes me very sad.

(famously scripting Rob Liefeld’s Youngblood 1)

It’s a solution in the sense that decisions like this help move the needle with regard to thinking of PoC as actual Human Beings. Consciously or subconsciously, too many people don’t seem to think that is the case and seeing/hearing them in pop culture can help to change that.

“Hail Hydra

What didn’t help with the show ending is the showrunners took what would probably take three or four full seasons to develop and crammed it into one and a half. (And of THAT, a good, what, 25% were battles?)

“You don’t finish this shit, George, we are going to have Brandon Sanderson do it for you.”

This video was the best thing that’s happened to me in weeks.

I want Review to come back so Forrest can review eating 90 Pancakes

Well fuck.

I would prefer to see both publishers move from yearly crossover events to doing events every 3-5 years. That way they can be more carefully planned, more interesting, and they can actually feel like events rather than assignments.

The Quibi online event is actually just a link to a GoFundMe page.

A lot of Hope Lange in The Ghost and Mrs Muir realness in Mol’s looks this episode.
