Ooh, I’ve got some! I keep trying to find horror fiction that is actually well-written and not just a depressing bundle of cliches and thin stereotyped characters. That turns out to be quite difficult, because there is just a ton of awful horror fiction out there to sort through (I include most of Stephen King in that

Testing. Is there any way to tell whether an account has been grayed without posting a dumb comment like this in a thread somewhere? Also, is there a way to see whether somebody else’s profile is in the grays or not?

I mean, sorry, but that’s the whole problem with Clinton (and her husband too, for that matter) - her policies all seemed to be developed by looking at the political calculus and determining what would give her an electoral advantage, rather than being based on what she actually believed in. To this day I’m not sure I

Well, look, I’m actually on your side - I think antifa are by and large a bunch of “might makes right” meatheads, the kind of Earth Crisis-listening assholes who used to beat people up in the hardcore scene for not being vegan or whatever, and their notion that they are going to keep punching racism until it doesn’t

The video isn’t that long, you could always watch it and use that to form an opinion about its biases instead of making assumptions about what they are. It seems like pretty straightforward reportage to me.

I can’t wait for the sequel, 2t.

I’m guessing the sequence went:

Er, the Game of Thrones thing, not the “leaping into the body of the AV Club” thing. (Kinja is already in there, I don’t think there’s much room left for malevolent interlopers)

Just to be pedantic about it, the Iron Islands are on Westeros’s west coast, not its east coast. I know, they don’t seem very laid back to me, either.

It’s also visible whenever you move your mouse over the top navigation, for heaven’s sake.

Yeah, that’s exactly what happened with me.

It's almost more than enough.

…and you can't see his feet!

SURPRISEIRRITATIONCONTEMPT!

Wait, can we just pause for a second here so someone can explain to me what the fuck type of camp this is? Parachuting superheroes? Didn't you kids ever hear of canoeing?

You keep saying this, but there are no floppy disks in Neuromancer, and Gibson (wisely) avoids describing most of the technical stuff in any great detail.

Yeah, I keep seeing people make these assertions that Neuromancer is dated, but I I'm not buying it. There are one or two dated details, like people using fax-machine paper for bedding and payphones still being things that exist, but the overall plot doesn't seem any less relevant now than it did in 1984.

I've always thought the Blue Ant trilogy was basically Gibson's own reboot of the Neuromancer trilogy, right down to the protagonist named Case. Having reread it pretty recently, though, the actual plot of Pattern Recognition doesn't seem terribly more well-suited to adaptation than Neuromancer does and it's a lot

Yeah, I mean their system works decently well for them, but the quality of the underlying content is quite different, and the type of commenting community they're trying (sort of) to build is different. They don't want everyone jumping in with snappy jokes on an article about the Fed lowering interest rates or

I got a notifications meta-notification for this?
