Weird, it's been awhile since I played BF3 (Even then I didn't play rush much, too infuriating relying on the masses) but I could have sworn I always missed the chance to jump for some reason or another...

I can feel you with that, base building used to be my favorite. That's one of the reasons I don't like the newer Dawn of Wars, went away from my favorite aspects of RTS as well. I was hoping Command and Conquer would eventually get good again, but that's not happening.

Why? What's the matter with modern RTS games like Wargame, Starcraft II, Company of Heroes, etc?

I think with moves like the roller skates and the exp share, they wanted to go in the direction of less mundane tasks and more getting to the meat. Now you can spend less time grinding each of your Pokemon one at a time (Which is what killed my desire to play Black(I never made it to the exp share)) or walking around…
