I’m not sure discomfort is actually as obvious to others as it is to the uncomfortable person. I spent my college years going limp and silent when my boyfriend tried to go farther than I wanted. I thought of this as negative reinforcement. But to a 19 year old boy, focusing his attentions on some cool new experience,

See, this is where the generational divide shows itself. I am almost 50 and have been out here in the world as a minority woman for what feels like forever. Due to the times in which I came of age, I believe that there is not automatically a power imbalance just because one person in the couple is a decade older than

So what arguments should she make that don’t seem like “standard rape apologist”? Seriously, is there a way to defend someone you believe to be innocent without coming off like that or is it only acceptable to stay silent?

Yeah, this one is...tough.

I hate that this is what Scientology has done, made people immediately question these sorts of accusations, because from the moment this story came out, I questioned whether Scientology was behind it. I set the accusations aside for a moment and thought “but what if, “ and that’s basically because when they have been

I know. This is such a powerful dude in Hollywood thing to do, and this is such a Church of Scientology thing to do.

I don’t think they convinced or paid 4 separate women to file a lawsuit full of false allegations.

The thing is they’re claiming the Church is behind the release but they talk about it being extracted from the guy during that e-testing nonsense. So effectively it could be that the allegations are true but they’re using the bad image of the church as smearing by association themselves.

That said, I fully believe the CoS would use this moment to smear their perceived enemies. They are above nothing.

Leah is great at Scientology stuff. She’s brave. She’s outspoken. She’s driven.

I completely agree. We’re talking about an organization that, any time a former member speaks out against the church, will put up a website within the same week trying to destroy that person’s credibility in any way possible, often making totally baseless accusations of domestic abuse, incest, pedophilia, you name it.

Fraudulent litigation is one of their most infamous tools. They sue everyone all of the time.

‘That said, I fully believe the CoS would use this moment to smear their perceived enemies.’

My husband was the Showrunner for a yet to be aired show on Scientology and all of the ex’s he worked with heavily advised he buy up all the open internet domains that he could think of that might allude to him being a pedophile, sexual predator, etc. We did. As much contempt as I have for Leah, I believe she and

Butttttt.... they definitely seem like they would stoop that low? I’m talking about the people that run shit, the leaders, not the rank-and-file members. I’m basing my opinion on the evidence presented in the documentary and Leah Remini’s series, plus all of the other personal stories that have been shared over the

Always question never dismiss. Ive seen that nobody wants to question these women and thats silly you should question everything and everybody but you should never dismiss somebody outright.

I believe the CoS would do this, absolutely.

I feel like with Leah Remini coming out so strong in the media, she really has protected herself and other high profile people that have spoken out against the church because they are so visible. It would be incredibly obvious if some crazy smear came out against one of the celebs who participated on her show,so they

Yup. I’ve been concerned about when someone that low would turn up. I have no idea, no way of knowing if this is that time or not.

Fun fact! Once upon a time, the word chivalry was *only* the combat part. The part about courtly behavior, including the protocols for romance, was called gentilesse. It’s where we get the words genteel & gentleman from.
