According to “the news” this year’s vax was way off in predicting which strain would be out, so it’s only about 10% effective. I got mine months ago so it doesn’t matter now, nor should this stop anyone from getting it. It just explains why seemingly everyone has the flu this year.

One slight correction...drs sometimes give prophylactic antibiotics to vulnerable people with colds and flu. I’m immunocompromised, and long experience has shown I will get a secondary infection from any respiratory virus. This is how I convinced my husband to get the flu shot. His parents are older, not super healthy, and he works with them everyday. Him getting the flu shot could literally save their lives. And now he does :)
