Thank you, I now have an idea for next time my friends hold 'drunk fanfiction writing' night.

Maybe she likes trucks. My grandma drove a truck almost up to the day she died.
I know, like I said it's just something I used as an example because I find them scary as hell. In retrospect, not vaccinating your kids would be a much better example, but alas - the edit button has vanished.
I grew up in a stable two-parent household... and I still don't really care. I went through a 'I want to be married!' phase for about a year when I was a kid and then went right back to not worrying about it. It's never been one of those things I've felt I needed to do or an important milestone in my life I had to…
They probably thought, 'she's in pain and this will help her.' I imagine a hundred years in the future people and look back and say 'dear lord, they used to do spinal taps to people!? That's terrible!' (I'm just pulling that one out of thin air because they freak me out)
The new addition to "games my friends play when Thistle is having one of her seizure-like fits" is pretending Thistle is an oracle. So far I'm 1 out of 2 for predictions. It's hard to think that shit up on the fly when you're flopping around on the ground like a dead fish.
Could someone give me a quick 101 on why having access to gender neutral clothing is important? Haven't encountered this one before and the only person I know that identifies as neither/both (I'm not sure which) is not someone I'd feel comfortable talking to about this. (we have a personality clash)
I remember seeing that series - it was very well-done. At that time I was still a bit anti-feminist and it still made me stop and think.
That's awesome. The shelter I got my animals from just gave them all generic names and the first thing I always do is rename them. It takes a bit of work, but I don't think any of them recognized their shelter names anyway. I don't even know what Captain Nemo was called before I got him, as the names aren't listed…
But can gay cats get married? My two boys may have problems if that's not okay as well.
I had the start of a comment here, but it's been lost by the constant screaming inside my head that happens when I read articles about Sandusky.
What. WHAT. WHAT IS THIS SHIT.
I've never been interested in marriage. I don't know, I just don't like being tied to people like that. I'm actually hitting the "why the hell am I in a relationship?" stage of dating right now... tallying up all the faults of the other person, remembering how happy I am alone.... I just keep looking for someone…
If you haven't been raised to be in fear of being assaulted, you tend to be oblivious. I've got a number of coworkers my age that are absolutely clueless about this sort of thing. I remember talking with an older coworker that has a daughter about some things going on in my apartment complex and he was quite…
I had to stop drinking soda some time ago because I can't have caffeine. I hate the taste of caffeine-free sodas. I sometimes indulge in a root beer, but otherwise I stay away. It's not as bad as it sounds - your tastes adjust and soda becomes way too sweet to enjoy. I drink tea instead and I love it.
I am totally unsurprised by this. I used to fight in a medieval reenactment group and that sort of close-combat can really screw with your head. For me, the fear can be almost paralyzing, to the point where I'd rather get hit and 'die' just to stop the feeling of waiting to die. Half of the fight is fought inside…
Kudos to them for keeping a polite tone? If I were in charge over at Lowes and had to deal with that sort of ugliness, I'd have posted something along the lines of, "After reading all the bile you lot are spewing, we've not only rethought our position but have decided to put our support behind this show with double…
How about a link to the Etsy of the woman that made it?
Do colors mean the same thing for women as well as men? Personally, when I see red on a woman I think 'sexy' instead of 'intimidating.' I don't wear much red and none of my flattering cut blouses are red. I tend to go with browns or pastels when the neckline is moving south.
I know some women complain about it, but I feel for you. I enjoy picking out my jewelry in the morning and accessorizing - there's a lot of options in how I can portray myself. My favorite is the necklace made out of watch parts, enough steampunk for those in the know to recognize the influence, still classy enough…
