That’s not embarrassing. Embarrassing is the compulsion to post Daveed Diggs gifs on any thread even remotely Hamilton-related.

Seriously, I look at so many red carpet fashions and they are over-designed, ill-fitting, atrocious colored monstrosities. And the makeup design is often even worse! I see some of these horrible high fashion looks on these insanely beautiful people, and wonder if they hate what they're wearing as much as I do.

Or a buddy movie with Leslie and Samira Wiley, who is probably half Leslie’s size and also an amazing, beautiful badass. Gorgeous women come in all sizes, who knew?

Melissa McCarthy has also talked a lot about having problems getting red carpet clothes. I believe she’s even made a few of her own. I love the idea of this outfit, but it would look so much better if fitted. She looks like she’s lost a lot of weight - maybe she should have had it altered.

Same here. I am very short, but I will only wear heels if I'm in your wedding party. And I refuse to be in any more weddings.

Oh, I completely agree with you! I have a hard time picturing Jon marrying anyone (or surviving to the end, for that matter). I was only saying that the ages could work in the logic of the book. But I agree, it would be icky on the show, for sure!

Also, since Sansa has grown considerably as a person, she is likely to greet Arya with genuine joy, and maybe even an apology. That might affect Arya’s reception of Sansa in return.

My favorite part of the movie The Royal Tenebaums is when they re-enact the book by running away to the museum. Also, all the Jon/Sansa shipping makes me think of that movie. Bad things happen when you fall in love with your adopted sibling, yo.

Does that mean he’s going to kill her?!

This. I don’t care if they’re “only” cousins biologically. They grew up as siblings, and I think it would feel wrong to both of them. Jon and Dany are strangers, despite having a biological connection. Plus, Targaryens are down with incest, Starks aren’t.

Yeah, they're only seven years apart in the books. That's not huge once you get past your teen years.

By book timelines, Jon was born in 283 and Lyanna Mormont in 290, making him seven years older than her. The age of majority seems to be around 14, so they could make a match when she's 14 and he's 21. I don't think this will happen, but it's certainly not indecent by the standards of the show - or pre-industrial

Well, in the first book Sansa always made a point of calling him her HALF-brother. She was super snobby about it. But I still don't think that's going to lead to them hooking up. I hope not, at least.

Yeah, I assumed that maybe Rhaegar and Lyanna picked “Jon” as a name after his bestie. But hopefully he’s got a ridiculous Targaryen middle name that will super embarrass him when he finds out.

She’s his aunt AND his first cousin once removed. Since their parents were brother and sister, Rhaegar and Daenerys are technically cousins as well as siblings.

Ok. I’m not a shipper or anything. As I said, I have a hard time seeing Jon getting married, period. If Jon/Sansa is the way the show or GRRM is going, I'm sure they'll make it work. As long as Sansa doesn't end up with Littlefinger, I'm fine.

I grew up in Kentucky, where we used to make jokes about “Uncle Dad.” We also used to say that the KY motto should be “If you can’t keep it in your pants, keep it in the family.”

I didn’t remember that Ned’s parents were cousins. I don’t really have a strong emotional stake in Jon’s potential marriage choices, honestly. :-)

Absolutely, I agree in actual historical terms. We have always required a certain distance of consanguinity, I think three degrees is what first cousins are, whereas siblings are 0 and uncle/aunt to niece/nephew would only be two.

But Sansa is Jon’s cousin. How is that any different?
