You're completely correct on both counts. Monopoly is balanced, but theres no mechanic in the game that truly encourages trading/selling properties, and the porperties value is much higher than the cost to purchase. Inherent issue.

Oh I forgot to mention the second part of having a fun time playing monopoly- Never play with people who wont trade property.

Don't play with house rules. The game is balanced, and using house rules ruins it.

I have no doubt thats why. They've known when they want to release it, and have had months to finish the game. They just didn't want to osborne effect themselves. (although they did announce the NEW 3ds just before the SS3ds came out.
