I am assuming the car had no data about the track previously loaded onboard? If it did, meh level cool. If it was actually analyzing a track for the first time, very cool.

That's the thing. No one should be discouraged from doing a track day. They just have to learn to do it the right way. That's the fun part, learning and getting better. And I don't think a car like a GT-R suits his experience level.

FWIW, if you ever find yourself in a trackday session with a driver like this (which you will) there's a way to handle it.

When I was at a track day at Road America, there was a GT-R driver there with an ego. A Miata caught him, but he wouldn't let the Miata past (power/ego advantage). Eventually the GT-R guy got pissed so he decided to brake-check the Miata and whaddaya know: they collided.

Doubtful. Butler seems like an honest to goodness good guy from all interactions I've had with him in person and from interviews. I would bet that he legitimately felt bad and wasn't even thinking about how dickish this might appear.
