Believe it or not a lot of website authors get paid for merely displaying the ad... so they aren't really targeting anyone... the idiotic nor the naive.
I've found that turning setting Plug-ins to Click to Play works much better for me. That way all types of videos and most ads do nothing until I click on them. I occasionally run into some issues, but helps way more than it hurts, and it's just a setting in Chrome instead of an extension.
Adblock....I wouldn't visit a single gawker related site without it, seriously most websites need to just drop all the damn advertisements altogether...Its the main reason people stopped using youtube...
Because when it comes to appreciation of "religious" arts, maybe it's important to remind people we don't care about the "religious message" some arts try to pass on. Be it the liturgical lyrics, themes of the paintings, icons and things like that.
Doesn't take away the fact religion produced beautiful art all around…
