Yup #whataboutism for the win.

Yes, absolutely. We also need to move to demanding that men (and women) are competent human beings who should be able to understand non-verbal communication. It’s the majority of our inter-human communication there is no excuse in “she didn’t say no” when the non-verbal cues were clearly there. I also think your last

I think if we are going to cut off every guy who has ever done something borderline amiss we are going to be incredibly lonely people. I don’t think the answer is ostracism. There needs to be dialogue. Guys feel cornered and will act defensively when confronted. That, for some reason, is almost the universal human

I think this is a crux of why medical treatment shouldn’t be a consumer product. While I think there is a line between something is wrong and no one is working to get to the bottom of it and I dictate what medical treatments I can buy because I am the customer.

It’s a generalization that it’s some moral failing of people to dumb or ignorant to take care of themselves so you have to come in on your “underpaid white horse” and save their sorry selves. There are many facets to how people get to have these health issues. To put this out as if it is just people making poor

Oh basically you are an employee? I mean there are thousands of people everyday who work in jobs of all types where the employee is compensated 50% or less of what the product or service costs.

So maybe, for this situation and the current resources and realities we face. But we cannot continue to solve problems in the same broken ways. There are lots of fucked up things that parents foist upon their children. Being an addict, being really sucky with finances, being a religious fundamentalist, yadda yadda.

But that’s “salary” not total compensation. Most CEOs actually ear reasonable salaries on paper. It’s all the options and bonus stuff that gets them into exorbitant territory.

I absolutely think that “free will” is a bit of a farce. I’m not saying society/culture/socialization/power structures control everything but I the choices that a person can conceptualize as being available to them and the pros/cons of making those available choices are constrained by the context in which we exist ie.

Ugh... no. I seriously had this fight with my husband recently. We have to stop talking about losing jobs, losing money, and losing friends as if it is equal to incarceration by the government. Please stop. Shitty media men list protected women, until it was publicized it actually had absolutely no negative impact on

#Truth bureaucracy is a bitch... and I’m a professional bureaucrat.

Unfortunately many of them are young and having many children. That’s how I come across these families with these beliefs. I come to know them through networks of people who have more than 4 kids. Sigh. Too many are my age... 30 and under.

Not to mention that so many of these people really believe that taking birth control IS abortion. They believe that the reduced abortion rates are lies because it doesn’t include the “abortions” caused by birth control. Dems can’t win these people over. It’s not possible to be a Democrat and support this view point.

If the kid is used to a pacifier, maybe but my breastfed babies never used pacifiers so they would have no idea to use it for something like that and I wouldn’t have thought to introduce that as a coping mechanism for the rare instances that they fly.

As someone who has now nursed 3 toddlers I can guarantee that subbing a sandwich or hell, even a cookie, for boob is not going to work. My current little over 2 year old has a conniption everytime we are done nursing (morning, when I get home from work, and before bed) unless it is his idea to be done. A tiny tantrum

I’ll take a stab at it. I don’t think she was decrying the Oppression Olympics as a white woman but that someone mentions oppression and white women are more than happy to tell their story and offer the platform to other white women to tell their story. They see their oppression as this horrible injustice without

Also how I read it. I was like yup, we white people do that shit all time. We parade in pussy caps. We gush over Taylor Swift’s law suit. WOC, women in poverty, LGBTQ+, disabled women, etc have it way, way worse but we are absolutely awful at allowing those stories to be heard. We’re like “oooooo shiny microphone. I

Full head of shoulder length curly hair and I shampoo maybe once a month if I’m feeling yucky (usually after cleaning house which always makes my hair feel gross). I use conditioner to scrub my scalp and hair 2-3 times a week. I also don’t soap my body. My hair and skin thank me profusely. I’m not a wacky hippie... I

I think there is a difference here. It is perfectly fine in my view for him to refuse to make Halloween cakes because a Halloween cake would have a different aesthetic than say a 4th of July cake and compelling the Halloween cake’s specific aesthetic would violate his free speech rights. How does a gay wedding cake

I would respect Franken if he would own that what he did in the picture was literally sexually objectify his peer and that he did it unthinkingly as a funny joke but didn’t examine that the reason jokes like that are funny is because they remove the agency and humanity from women and reinforce the only thing women are
