I don’t disagree at all. That’s what I was saying, they put that language in there to discourage it but it’s just text, it isn’t enforceable.

Just because it’s not enforceable, doesn’t mean they won’t make it part of the agreement.
It isn’t enforceable. Others have tried it before when introducing limited number offerings in order to keep people from buying them up to resell on eBay, etc. If they took it to court it would lose.
I would imagine other companies have tried to pull this stunt before, to control owners’ ability to re-sell (and at what price) and as far as I can tell they’ve failed. If they can’t provide a good reason as to how/why the resale price affects their obligations in providing any of their post-purchase obligations…
“Awarding” money to Vegas? That makes it sound like “hey you win for having the highest death count in a mass shooting this year! Congrats!”
I think you’re assuming they wouldn’t uphold the warranty, which may not be how they enforce it. All I meant was that they may make the reservation buyers agree to not sell it above sticker as part of the purchase contract, which they could conceivably do. I’m not sure what the specific enforcement mechanism would be.
That’s insanity. I hope they get their asses taken to court over that. Understood that there is more involved than a standard warranty here with software updates, supercharger use (which Model 3 owners actually won’t be getting for free, so kind of moot) – but Tesla’s costs aren’t driven in any way by whether the…
Damn. That would be stone cold.
The Model X looks like a generic car shape they would put in a Pixar movie when they didn’t want to use a specific manufacturer’s vehicle.
Red is the worst offender.
Or, hear me out, maybe they put up an ad for their dick coworker’s car, knowing that it would get tons of coverage and the coworker would get slammed for it by management. Then they pulled it before anyone can trace down who really posted it. Sounds like something someone would do.
He could have just parked it in a parking lot in Palo Alto with a for sale sign and his number and gotten just as much traffic without publicly advertising a price.
I am seeing these cars multiple times a day now and that front just gets worse the more I see it. Red is the worst offender. It looks even worse on the…
> are barred from reselling them for anything more than the original price; the same goes for reservation holders.
Bullshit.
I don’t think any of those things do anything more than cause kids to lie to avoid punishment
“no perfect parent” is not license to beat your kids you maniac.
The first hit is where things go wrong. Adults shouldn’t have to debate how awful being beat by their parents was.
Wow, I’m sorry you experienced that. I’m glad you were able to evolve beyond that kind of ‘parenting’.
Hitting your kid for any reason is not okay. Bad parents resort to beatings.
