They’re not really transferable outside because the jobs don’t exist outside of prison. Why would they after all? When you get free employees you don’t really have to pay why would you have the same jobs outside where you would have to pay them at least minimum wage?

Absolutely. The few pennies inmates are said to earn for their labors doesn’t make it any less so. I honestly wonder if any of the prison-affiliated jobs are transferable once outside, or if it is essentially a prison-captive market and industry.
