Stop that! In memory of Prince, don’t fight.

Nope. POC is telling you to “listen”, but you hear “shut up”. Once you can get rid of that perspective, and listen, you will know what “speaking up” as a white ally means.
Let’s not do that. There are plenty of white supremacist women out there who are out there pumping these dudes up as their supreme Aryan life partners.
I think it’s a vestige of white privilege that also comes from an inability to articulate a feeling that you’re not doing enough. I know, for me personally, I don’t feel that I do enough. My activism goes beyond wearing a tshirt (ironically, despite donating to various charities I don’t wear a BLM tshirt because I…
As a 100% ashkenazi jew with almost no blood relatives because of the holocaust, you’ll get zero sympathy from me. If I changed my name to Mackenzie Smith, nobody would know my jew ass from Adam.
I’m a white woman and I sometimes ask myself “What else could I be doing?”, and I’m being completely sincere when I say that Googling it often helps. People have written plenty of pieces on the subject.
So you saw an article that was like, hey non-PoC, maybe stop centering yourself and your damn lives in a conversation not about you?
Nobody is telling anyone they can’t talk about this. How in the world are you getting that from this article?
So basically you saw a criticism of some white people, and you were so blinded by rage at the very idea that white people were being criticized (and by a white lady no less! race traitor amirite?) that you completely missed the point of the article and instead rushed to pen a wannabe snarky comment that was…
I think you’re (intentionally) misunderstanding what this article is actually saying.
So what is the point of your disingenuous question?
This is just a weird comment, dude.
Also applies to gay white men thinking they’re POC.
These sorts of disingenuous questions are so tedious. You know that this phantom wife of yours is probably fine. You know that artticles like this aren’t implicating all white people. So what is the point of your disingenuous question?
We could have used this this article before the last sns, the root thread was a doozy
My dad once got so annoyed by a wedding invitation that came in a glitter- and confetti-filled envelope that he painstakingly put each fleck back into the rsvp card before mailling it. He likened the invite to an act of aggression. (He didn’t go to the wedding, either)
This reminds of me of the pre-email trend of glitter confetti in letters and cards that went everywhere when you opened them. I’m glad that’s over because the mess always pissed me off.
It’s actually worse than that. He made the comment about pardoning Joe Arpaio fucking YESTERDAY
I, too, hope things return to normal, hidden racism.
