Even if his film record of recent times is pretty dire, the guy is magnetic on stage. His Richard III (directed by Sam Mendes) was great. Credit where credit's due - he can still pull off this acting thing magnificently.

I watched The Corner after having watched The Wire about three times, and I have to say I didn't like it all that much. It's definitely very well acted, but it felt heavy-handed, made some bad directorial/editing choices and simply didn't move me or make me think as much as Bubbles' story did in The Wire.
