I’ve found that sometimes one stain remover works when another doesn’t. So I’d use Shout and it didn’t work, then I’d wash the item again with Zout and that worked. Problem solved, right? Nope, because the next time I’d have to reverse the order and I was getting tired of having to wash things twice. So I tried using

If you have a quarter-cup of the ginger juice, then add a half-cup (1/4 * 2) of sugar.

Because she doesn’t sous vide brownies. You have to know which tools to apply when.

I read that as “Baker’s chocolate pot brownies”. I think maybe it’s time for bed.

I love you people.

Our local Paneras (we have two in my town) are both fast and reliable. Which is good, because the Starbucks’ around here all remodeled so the tables are much tinier and the chairs are awkward as hell, which isn’t offset by the decent wifi. Corner Bakery is also good.

Fine = non-dead. Which is better than I expected from this story.

The movie changes it into the Nobel Prize, presumably for name recognition, but Wolitzer created a fictional lesser prize in the book. It’s specifically mentioned that Joe Castleman wasn’t ever good enough for the Nobel.

I was hoping you’d ask about “Regeneration” (“Behind the Lines” in the US.) Pryce was perfect as Rivers, both as Barker wrote him and the real person.

“Breaking Glass” was very much a product of its time, so if you’re into very early 80’s music history, it’s worth a look. It’s been decades since I last saw it, Daniels has quite a large part, worth seeing it for him.

Wow, we never had that. Ours just came in boring cardboard boxes.

Yeah, that’s why I started smoking at 11. At least you looked cool while you coughed.

The original fit? They had these when I was a kid, and my older brother (born in 1955) introduced me to them. It was a good thing they were kind of subversive because they tasted pretty lousy.

I actually like the Crown Royal Apple, but I consider it more of a liqueur than a whiskey and drink it accordingly. Kind of like the difference between scotch and Drambuie.

As a supplement, I think they’re a great idea for exactly the reason your family uses them. But as replacements for in-person visitation, they suck.

As Ben says, if you like it, drink it. I like both their bourbon and their rye, depending on what I feel like drinking at any given time. I’d say you can’t go wrong with their offerings with the exception of their smoked maple bourbon. I had a sample of that and though I have a major sweet tooth, that was just a bit

I got my son a bottle of the Jamesons Caskmates Stout for Christmas last year, since his go-to is Jamesons. He enjoyed it greatly.

We got a bottle on the recommendation of a friend, but my husband isn’t able to drink right now so it’s sitting unopened in our bar, waiting patiently. Nice description, thanks!

I’ll have to give Evan Williams a shot, then. Because the Willett is $75 hereabouts, and that’s just not in my budget.

Here in Texas at Total Wine, it’s $75. I’ve eyed the bottle a few times but that’s too rich for my blood.
