When I’m starting with close to zero, every bit of information helps.
Yes. And...?
It’s a tough job but someone has to do it. If only we had some kind of, I dunno, system or something where a whole bunch of people could get together and make these decisions with the good of everyone in mind. But that’ll never happen. So I guess I’m it.
I’m inclined to agree with you, but that would make us no better than them. But, shit, this kind of stuff happens repeatedly and we are all horrified and vow, “Never again,” until the next time. I don’t have any answers.
Thank you for posting this. My knowledge of Myanmar/Burma is pretty limited.
No prob.
Me. Thanks for asking.
The Fed has contributed to this, true, but that’s not the only thing. The Fed doesn’t create tax policy and that also has a lot to do with where we find ourselves now. You did read the article we’re commenting on, right?
I have never suggested they shouldn’t get any money. But the upward flow of wealth has been drastically increased in the last 30+ years and the country’s economy is unsustainable if it continues for much longer.
I aspire to make $75k/yr. Seriously.
Nah, Jesus was a brown guy. If he even managed to get elected, nobody would listen to him anyway. I mean, he did cover this stuff pretty clearly in that book they’re always waving around but they don’t seem to have paid any attention. You’d almost think maybe they haven’t read it.

Again, that was a rhetorical question, I presumed that posters here either already knew the answer or are capable of finding it.
Shit, I know that too. Thanks!
You were assuming she has an “effective tax rate” of 2% based on the fact that she wrote that she pays the equivalent of one week of her family’s income in taxes. I was clarifying what I thought her meaning was, I have nothing to say about how she deals with her withholding amount.
And yet those same “Socialism baaaaad” people are just okay fine that the Russians put their thumb on the wheel during our last federal elections.
No worries, it does no harm for me to clarify my points.
Guillotines are pretty.
The United States built that trade surplus only a couple of decades after the Great Depression. Those were the years following the last time we had to learn that letting a tiny fraction of the populace control the vast majority of the country’s wealth was a bad idea.
