"The most shocking thing about Robin Williams' suicide was the number of people who were shocked by Robin Williams' suicide."

Interestingly, I have the opposite reaction when I find out that someone who's rich, successful, and seemingly living a great life is stuck dealing with the same shit that I (and too many of the people I know) deal with. In a weird way, it sort of reassures me to see evidence that we're all in it together.

It worked for me on the big screen in 3-D, but I haven't been in any rush to watch it again at home. As for her performance, it helps me to bear in mind that she did most of it strapped into a harness on a bare set with lights and cameras constantly spinning around her, and Cuaron's instructions really were along the

I didn't say it was easy.

And a copy of all four Master And Commander movies.

Why should we have sympathy with such a man?

Ugh, I'm sorry to hear it. As always, cancer can suck a bag of dicks.

I'm so sorry for your loss. A glioblastoma took my uncle a few years back; while he was thankfully never in serious physical pain, it was awful to watch him slowly lose his memory, then his ability to read, then his ability to speak, and finally his mobility. Sending good thoughts to the McCain family.

Any type of brain cancer is an asshole, but a GBM is a fucking asshole.

Wow, I never thought about it, but there's a parallel universe where McCain was a two-term President who was succeeded by Sarah Palin in 2016. Maybe this isn't the darkest timeline.

Totally! If I ever get my female-fronted dream band off the ground, Prom Night, Mooning, and Freddie My Love are at the top of the to-do list.

Well, if you see her, tell her I said "bleccch."

Well, we can hope that he'll use his remaining time to do something positive, so yeah.

I lost an uncle after he developed a glioblastoma of the same type as McCain's, and my uncle never voted to take anyone's health care away. Cancer doesn't care about your political views.

In conclusion, Rosie O'Donnell is a land of contrasts.

Yes, just like the rest of us. But there's a special level for people who would lump "Mary Poppins" in with "La-La Land."

Far out.

Will do!
