I’m neither conservative nor a mom but okay.

I’ll add that I really liked the first half of this episode, but I think that’s an exception that proves the rules. The rituals of grief and mourning gave the characters a framework to operate within, and I found myself wishing the whole show had had similar focus.
My problem with the boundaryless behavior of the character’s on this series comes from two main places:
I taught 8th grade for almost 20 years, so I have been around a lot of 14 year olds. You do get some with nasty little ‘staches like that, but Jack Dylan Grazer is 17 (probably 16 when this was made).
Boundaries. These characters need boundaries.
I’m glad you said something about the freezing images. I’ve never been sure if that was intentional or it was just my cable hiccuping.
So when you said Danette Chavez will drop in on the premiere of The Conners you didn’t mean she would actually write about it.
I comment every week but I really don’t know what to say tonight, other than that I hated the music video and I wish the lighting had been better for some of the scenes on the camping trip. I liked how the main stories continue to evolve, but it’s so deliberately paced that it’s hard to say anything new. In any other…
Perhaps, but it’s not so common on the SNL stage, especially not in recent years. But, you know, different strokes.
But it’s a primary. Bartlet doesn’t “win” over Ritchie, he is competing against other Democrats. It’s entirely possible that Bartlet and Ritchie can both win in Hartsfield’s Landing. Since no Democratic challenger is mentioned* it seems likely that the incumbent president is running unopposed and is virtually…
So our hero just straight up murdered a bunch of space mall cops who were just doing their jobs. I mean I guess we’re supposed to think of them as space gangsters and that makes it alright, but I still think it’s a questionable choice for an episode that wants us to get all weepy over Michael’s commitments to the…
I enjoyed this a lot more than I was expecting to. Everybody in the cast slips right back into their roles just like it was yesterday, and as the review notes the staging adds to rather than takes away from the effect. I still wish we got a brand new story rather a remake, though.
You bring up a deeper issue that I have alluded to before but that I kind of glossed over here: I don’t buy at all that the default parenting style in this community is to let teenagers come and go at all hours with little regard for where they are and who they are spending their time with. A real Richard would have…
I still don’t entirely understand the long game Guadagnino is playing here. Why do all the episodes have the same title? Why wasn’t that the title of the show? Is everybody just going to continue to simmer for three more episodes, or at some point are things going to boil over?
Wait... isn’t that the older brother from Young Sheldon?
The Vulture recaps are pretty diligent about mentioning them.
Another thought: On actual military bases is it that common for enlisted guys to hang around with the teenage children of their colleagues? That seems like it would be concerning to many parents and would be discouraged by COs.
It was nice to see Fraser integrated with the friend group. It feels like they skipped a few narrative steps to get him there, but compared to the other cryptic aspects of his character it’s not that hard to accept.
Absolutely. Our goal as a society should be to get as close to 100% unemployment as we possibly can.
