Quicksilver in the MCU seemed to be much less powerful than the Fox one, but maybe that's because we didn't get things from his perspective so it seemed different. To me I didn't get the sense he was completely overpowered.

I think she's a terrible person on top of just being irritating. I think Ed is far more sympathetic as he keeps getting coaxed into doing idiotic things because he almost blindly follows Peggy. Well it depends how you decide what "respecting what deploying troops" means. It could be argued that our latest president is extremely hesitant to deploy troops. Instead he has used drones, provided some air support, and armed resistance fighters. Whether that is necessarily because of potential political backlash

I'd say that unless they were a relatively high ranking officer in the armed forces being in the military isn't going to be that much more applicable to the position of commander in chief as you put it than somebody with no military experience.
