My father’s cousin was murdered in Miami while she was prosecuter. He was your stereotypical pothead murdered by the preppy, clean-cut guy next door who happily played off people’s misconceptions to claim self-defense. According to everything I have been told, it would have worked if not for Janet Reno.  I wasn’t

I felt neutral toward Ben, neither for nor against until he was such a dork to/about the psychic. He just seemed like a spoiled brat and not at all the charming lad he imagines himself to be.

Not sure I want to serve as scapegoat for someone’s unhappiness with their job. There’s a baseline of common courtesy I expect while doing business with strangers in the public sector. Whether they like their job or not.

I love that show, too, but I am ashamed about it. A couple of weeks ago my son asked me what my favorite TV show was, and I said, “Well, if I’m being really honest, it’s probably “Below Deck”. Which is horrible.”

She is young and maybe not so good at spotting the red flags, or, willing to forgive the boy who thinks she’s groovy. I wanted her to say no in the worst way.

Do any of you watch the terrible show Below Deck?

What galls me is that the Dixie Chicks were burned at the stake for saying that they are ashamed that GWB is from Texas, but Ted Nugent and others are calling for Obama and Hillary to be literally killed and that’s totally fine with the Dixie Chicks haters.

So the guy perpetrates the violence and then blames the woman for not preventing it? (Checks all of human history.) YUP! CHECKS OUT!

Salaried=/=exempt from overtime. I’m not an FLSA expert, but it’s pretty unlikely that a secret service agent would meet the duties tests for an exempt employee.

“Myyyyyy Precioussssss....!”

I’m 46, my mom is 74, and neither of us can understand any woman who thinks and talks like this!

If the company documented poor performance and she was on her way out when actively misusing a drug, she’s not protected. If they figured out she was using while she was on leave (and sober) she is protected. The company will have to show that she had serious performance issues and was going to get fired before she

Worth pointing out that the planes were all flying (or intending to fly to) California, and from DC, Newark and Boston. Thus, the direct hits were to NYC (incl. NJ), DC, Boston, LA, and SF.

They are claiming that the recommendation letters were unauthorized. What that COULD mean is that three of his peers wrote recommendation letters for him. These peers may not have been aware why he was being fired or may have decided that it was bullshit and chosen to omit it (I’d like to think people wouldn’t

OK, so let’s say we do. Do you know how long it takes for a rape case to go to trial? Do you know how many actually even make it to a courtroom rather than getting dismissed for lack of evidence/police douche-baggery? Do you know what the conviction rates are?

Well, that’s not what the Department of Education says. Under Title IX, schools (all schools . . . K-12 and above) are REQUIRED to investigate allegations of sexual harassment—with rape considered a form of that harassment. If schools do not investigate and act, federal funding (think: student loans) can be removed

Looking up the gifs is making me even more excited!

I did not - I wonder if it was any good?

All the while drinking from a giant glass of Orsini Vineyards merlot, probably.

My mom and godmother watched Days & always told the story of how I would play with my Fisher-Price people as the characters. Grandpa was Dr. Horton. AMC was one of my favs in the late 80's early 90's though. Preferred Maurice Bernard as Nico. Tad & Dixie. All of the Liza incarnates. When Natalie’s sister threw her in
