Yes! Nelson’s comment was stupid and internalized misogyny, but Dessen’s “OMGyouguys! That was soooooo mean!” attitude ain’t a good look. Dessen has 250k+ Twitter followers and best-selling books. A comment from a recent college grad probably wouldn’t have gone past the local paper if she herself hadn’t brought it up.
