Literally, no one needs this car.”

yeah - instant collectability and an ultimate hillbilly flex.

Flash forward 40 years when the 1 of 2 Demon 170s with optional sunroof and 5miles on the odometer sells for 10 billion dollars.

  1. Be the one clown who orders a sunroof

There was no good reason to buy it new. There’s even less reason to pay nearly $10,000 for it now.

108 mile range... I can barely get outside of Seattle to the other side of the mountain with this shit. You expect me to drive out, find a charging spot to charge up, then drive up into the woods just so I can get back?

KBB shows a plain jane RAV4 with about 100k miles in good condition and no options to be worth 12K to 15K dollars.  A decent trans replacement is probably $3500-$4000 max.   This may be a caase of a vehicle owner not knowing their vehicles value

There is nobway it cost more to replace the trans than the car is “worth” maybe more than she owes on it. But this person is just wanting to sell the car to carvanna or something that wont check too hard and dump the problem on somebody else  and buy a different car

Just replace the transmission. While it sucks to have major mechanical failure if there is no other issues with the car it would be more cost effective to repair the trans. At most it should cost $6,000 the transmission to be replaced. A 2015 rav4 with a bad transmission is worth NOTHING. If you replace the

She bought the car when it was 3 years old, so I’m not sure you can blame the lake of transmission maintenance on the previous owner. Abuse? Perhaps. But now it’s 5 years later, is seems like any lack of maintenance issues are her own doing.

My daughter has a Camry of this era. I ended up driving it and noticed a horrible shudder at 35 mph. A little digging found that Toyota had issues with the torque converter not locking up properly at light loads.

There’s like 4 of those left, we’re fine.

For all those people saying drag is harmless...

The Dodge Charger/Challenger, together with the S550 Mustang and, to a lesser extent, the modern Camaro, are the single worst things to ever happen to the car hobby, and I will not be persuaded otherwise.

Or perhaps we change the road infrastructure to reflect a shift to a more bicycle-friendly culture versus a car-focused culture.

In the past I’ve put more miles on my normal bike (2,000) as opposed to my car (1,500). However now I have a job where I have to show up and be presentable, and there aren’t any showers. And it’s 10 miles away.

^ Thiiiiis. If an e-bike gets more people on two wheels, I’m for it.

Not if people don't use it

I live in an area with steeeeeep hills. Having an E bike is great because I can get some exercise without killing myself trying to power up a 15% grade. In spring, summer, and fall I ride my bike to work and get my blood pumping before starting my day without having to arrive at work a sweaty, drippy, mangled mess
