I think if you ask a lot of people they wouldn’t list eco friendliness of EVs as being a top reason for purchasing EVs. I’ve owned EVs for 7 years and it isn’t even my top 2 reasons.

Ding, ding, ding, you nailed it with the “bullshit that surrounds” them, it’s a huge turnoff for me. And while this is not exclusive to EVs, it sure seems endemic to them. I’m 47. Within the next few years I’ll have an ND Miata (or NE) which I hope to Ride or Die into my golden years while technology moves on…
I agree with the sentiment of ditching ICE for BEV. Designs are killer, the technology is on full display, and overall they’re quicker and more efficient than any ICE could ever hope to be. After so many years, we’re actually witnessing the auto industry flex their creative skills, in all aspects. Both Design and…
Manufacturers’ insistence on intentionally making EVs more of a pain in the ass to live with than a typical gas-powered car, even when they should theoretically be easier to live with, is just one of several reasons why I’m not getting one anytime soon. If I were to buy an EV, it would be one that’s completely…
Drove our Leaf this morning at minus 6. Fully charged it had 100 miles less range than it does in the summer. Kudos to you for wanting to go all electric but we are not there yet.
The lack of infrastructure plus the effect of cold weather on EVs are major detractors. Motor Trend just posted something about their experiences which confirms a lot of what my friends with EV have said:
So take this little jimny, give it enough battery to do 250/300 miles, say a 200hp motor set, profit? Make a car that has buttons, real gauges and batteries.
Oh, this would be amazing fit. I mean the regular jimny has to rank as one of the worst roadtrip cars anyho, with buzzy engine, non-existing trunk space and general lack of power.
I love everything about these little utilitarian beasts, such a shame they are forbidden fruit.
Or they should fade to a point or something. It's just a bit abrupt.
T.L.D.R version: Firefighters can easily deal with EVs
I’m a 35 year veteran firefighter, 13 years as a Battalion Chief, so I know what I’m talking about. EV fires are a concern, but not a huge problem. True, firefighters need to be informed about handling EV fires, but they are a kin to other types of situations we…
I love the exterior. Gorgeous. The interior looks like a shower from an early 90’s tract house.
Cadillac lost that pedigree a looong time ago.
So, how long before the the lawsuit pops up from a customer who paid for something that Tesla now doesn’t plan to deliver?
It’s not a loophole if it’s intentional. I’ve always viewed a loophole as an unintended miss in the drafting of legislation that let people ‘get away’ with the stuff they were trying to regulate.
Oy! That’s not going anywhere, mate!
“According to authorities in Australia, the capsule was safely packed away on January 10.”
why are you using more than 500kwh a month? thats ridiculous.
Seriously?
Maybe they were looking at least efficient EVs in the most expensive electricity areas, and comparing that to a Prius in a cheap gas state.
