Neutral: I have a feeling the fully electric Jeeps will sell very well.

Everyone’s comparing the Recon to the Wrangler”

Or park giant trucks with gianter trucknutz in front of them.

They only want law and order for other people, not themselves.

... or to give them feeling of power as they continue to slide toward irrelevancy in a techincalogtically advanced and globalized world they can neither comprehend nor participate in.

1st gear: I can’t wait for law-and-order regressives to vandalize and destroy charging stations to ‘own the libs’ or whatever.

Right up there with “A/C doesn’t work, just needs a recharge”.

Seems odd that $15k is the “low cost” first car price threshold. I understand that used cars are more expensive, and probably in a bubble right now, but certainly there are plenty safe and reliable first cars for half that, right? Yet they only listed two vehicles under $10k. And just quickly skimming AutoTrader, it

That’s a huge job. Need to remove the entire dash to fix that. even then I bet it would be more of a “fix” than a fix.

Make them free to attend.

Crazy how much weight they were able to shave off. But a full time AWD car coming in at less than 3300 lbs today is impressive. The Core is at least 150-300 lbs less than its current AWD competition and what it would have competed against had it been released 5 years ago.

While I’ll admit that the new Civic Type R is about 1000% more appealing than the last, I’d drop my $40k on this waaaaaay before the CTR. This has a much, MUCH more special drivetrain and is much more justified at that price as a result. This is even more special than a Golf R, they’ve made haldex pretty good these

Thanks for pointing out that the interior has knobs and buttons... as it should. We need to keep reminding VW that we want knobs, buttons and switches in our hot hatches and many of us will not buy them again until they do.

I’d like to think so. Most of that money is going in to the once homologated engine and drivetrain that isn’t in any other car besides the GRY. Which is unlike everyone else that is using that’s using a souped up economy engine. That alone makes this car extra special.

I think so. I mean, the harsh truth is that it’s still cheaper than the average new car today, and if you go for the Circuit — or whatever the Circuit becomes after 23 — it feels premium enough. The Core grade definitely has more of an economy car feel to it, but you’re paying for things you won’t see in the interior

Always love the “yeah I got quoted $300 to fix the dashboard” but then didn’t do it. Why? because they knew it would not be done right or there was more to the story. That’s a pain in the a$$ job so good luck with the buyer finding that same deal.

Here’s the question I have: Does it feel like a car that should cost $40k+?

We were able to briefly take it on side roads, and the ride wasn’t noticeably harsher or much different than other cars of this type, thought I’d want to live with it for more time to really say one way or the other. And yes — the handbrake works just like it does in the GR Yaris!

Is the word “premature” appropriate?

Cool that the emergency system worked so nicely. Must be comforting to the ultra rich.
