WHAARR FREEVALVE?!???!?!

You are confusing peak demand with overall demand. Electrical usage peaks in the morning and evening (aka duck curve) so their grid is hammered with roughly 2x the load at 7pm versus 2pm. Vast majority of people charge their cars at night or at work, and changing to all BEVs would only increase total usage by 1.3x,

20 More?! I cannot wait for these to flood the market so I can pick up a used one at a great deal!

Mass exodus of...checks notes 0.3% in one year after a 5.8% increase over the previous decade.

OK.

I have a 1967 230SL pagoda in my garage, complete with the original rag top and hard top. It has been in the family for 3 generations.

It’s all right. I ain’t losin’. This fool is running a Honda 2000. I’ll win. Then me and my dad can roll together when he gets out of prison. It’s all good.

Don’t do it. I bet you he’s got more than a hundred grand under the hood of that car.

Don’t let this distract you from the fact that Hector is going to be running three Honda civics with spoon engines, and on top of that, he just went into Harry’s and bought three t66 turbos with nos, and a motec exhaust system.

To be fair I’ve never met at “Fast & Furious Fan” who didn’t piss me off.

Your assuming what is on the market right now is state of the art. As you pointed out current technology is about 5 years ahead of what you see coming to the market. So, it really is like 10 years... but it just started 5 years ago and is ending five years early.

It just depends on their definition of “zero emissions” in the mandate. Does a hybrid or PHEV count since they are able to run electric only during parts of their duty cycle?

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

Nissans and Dodges. This is my shocked face. :|

You know they are in their forums complaining about how they are the victims here. So much caps lock.

Its laudable - but laughable. Not because we shouldn’t shoot for the moon, but we aren’t able to meet that target right now with current battery tech. And before people say that 2035 is a long way off...it isn’t. We have basically 5 years to figure out how to make WAY more batteries and/or figure out how to do more

I still find it hilarious that passenger vehicles are the ones blamed, but planes just got a regulation scare within the past couple years, and cargo shit/marine vehicles seemingly don’t get standards either.

Figured, WTH are they going to do with all the current ICE vehicles, push them into Le Brea?

The writing has been on the wall for this change for a decade. Auto manufacturers purposefully drug their feet on the transition, spending tens of millions on kickbacks and political corruption, to try to delay it so they could juice some extra short term profit. They aren’t going to transition without a mandate, and

I still maintain this whole thing is being rushed and I foresee nothing but chaos as a result UNLESS the prices of the cars come down dramatically between now and then and the infrastructure is improved dramatically. Otherwise this is just going to put additional financial strain on people who are already at their

Clickbait headline.
