Not likely in this case as we are talking about acting roles. You can’t, for example, audition for a role of a ten year old while age seventy and claim ageism when you don’t get the role.  Ageism also applies to hiring and firing and conditions of employment.  Acting is contract work and as such ageism doesn’t apply.

In this case it appears to be because they want to go with facial captures that match the actor’s looks which would be a problem for appearance.
