I have to disagree on the slow mo. I’ve had too many games where I feel like the slo motion makes me question the quality of my dodge. Most systems I’ve seen with slo-mo are actually VERY forgiving on the dodge timing and transition me from a state of emergency evasion to a state of low-speed action thus reducing the

Depends on the judge and the nature of the proceeding.  I replied further up but one of my areas of practice is adoptions.  Judges in my cases are generally very empathetic and understanding and want to make the kids in the court room feel comfortable.  To the point where the jury box is literally filled with plush

It mystifies me that this is the overall look some judges have. I practice adoption law at my practice and I’ve seen the same thing you have with some of the kids I’ve helped. And these are adoption hearings, so it’s something happy for them as it solidifies their mom and dad (or just one if it’s a step parent).

As someone who has worked in Convention management as a board member for several years, this article amuses me to no end. It’s easy to criticize conventions and the problems fans face until you learn the challenges of actually running one and the delicate balancing act everything is. Nice write-up Nathan.

It depends. I may end up cancelling my subscription over this. My wife and I tend to only see the types of movies they’re planning this upcharge on. But since we can’t see the same movie twice AND they will be adding in extra cost to it then I’m literally saving nothing on movie pass in which case why have it at all?

In some respects it doesn’t surprise me.  A lot of my clients prior to talking with me don’t know that you can copyright code.  Generally it’s one of the first aspects of their game I tell them to copyright.  So it wouldn’t surprise me if this company didn’t know that and thought it was perfectly acceptable to copy it.

What’s interesting to me about this is the fact that it is almost literally the opposite of what the Digital Millenium Copyright Act in the United States was created for. On User-created content it’s just too difficult to police everything that gets submitted so the DMCA was created to allow the service providers a

I do know plenty of my female friends though who do enjoy Soul Calibur for the men partly because they almost always contain a shirtless version of the guys that appeal to women (Seigfried & Kilik predominately). Also they’ve made their fair share of sexy guys in little clothing in the character creator.

At this point

Snoopy world war 1 flying ace. The campaign was super brief but the online was surprisingly robust and fun.

It is the dumbest thing to me that online communities for gaming are so toxic that all my female friends don’t feel they can use a mic when in public games because they get attacked almost instantly. The difference is just night and fucking day since I’ve never had that problem but man do I see it a lot.

I’ve mentiond

Bought Bebop on VHS in jr. high/high school. Watched those tapes so much I wore them out.

Watched it every time I could on Adult Swim.

This is why I called it “slightly better than half life 3 soon.” Half life 3 soon would be it will never happen. The Greenlight thing shows that they WILL act but it may be hilariously late and not that impactful.

At the rate Valve has moved to revamp Steam so it isn’t a shitshow? Slightly better than Half Life 3 soon. (They did remove Steam Greenlight afterall)

the new rating is the “rating pending” symbol so it hasn’t really changed yet as a re-release of a game still gets re-rated by cero.

Was about to say the same thing. I saw the trailer for Raft last week and saw the thumbnail and wondered for a second if they completely changed art direction.

That statement in the article is so shortsighted about film and fiction it’s astounding to me. People can relate to anything if it’s given enough “human like” qualities - what they look like is irrelevant so long as the personality and writing support relating to the character.

No kid is going to relate to the dog from

I agree with this take. The joke likely slid by because they were writing and directing it entirely under the mindset of “well, people check a dogs’ balls at these shows so there’s a funny joke in there.” They probably only looked at it from the lense of dogshow which appears harmless at first because, well no one

Now playing

Extra Credits did an episode on this several years ago pointing out how strong a character Samus is without Other M in addition to the mistakes Other M made. I highly recomend a viewing of it as well.

Hated but not for historical inaccuracy and more for what they did to the gameplay in and of itself.

I love this but they weren’t complaining that the having lootboxes drop from the sky in CoD with cards inside was somehow immersion breaking when that actually had a direct impact on gameplay.
