Wouldn't it be cooler if we were all werewolves instead of having our periods? I would totally trade cramps for smelling like wet dog once a month.

Veterinarian offices too! We used to get the weirdest injuries, the craziest pets and clients on full moons! (but then animals react to things like earthquakes, so I'm not sure that's entirely unlikely that they might react to lunar cycles too.)

I don't see why they can't handle the oswin/clara similarity the same way they handled the a appearances of Freema Ageyman & Eve Myles in the series before they were either Martha or Gwen. They explain Freema's appearance as a different character with Martha mentioning that her cousin was at canary wharf (she appears

Also Old Cranky Batman was 100% more fun to watch than Terry any day. Like if they'd done that show with just semi-elderly yet badass Bruce Wayne, I'd have watched the hell out of it.

Yes, Chris Evans did play the Human Torch in the god-awful Fantastic Four movies and there was a stint where several studios kept trying to cast Ryan Reynolds in everything too. So yeah, it's been done, but I still don't think it's super likely as WB seems to want to disassociate batman from the nolan trilogy now

ooh the flash! I still wish they'd do a flash movie. As good as JGL would be as a speedster, I doubt they'd want to reestablish him as something else now that he's been associated with the batman franchise. I still wish they'd gone the Nightwing route though, because he'd be an excellent choice for that.

Yeah. He'd go on my list of people who *are* actively trying to win the Iron Throne but have no chance in hell of doing so. Also Victarion Greyjoy.

Ignoring all the other plot related reasons as to why Jon Snow isn't permanently dead, he's also *reportedly* one of GRRM's favorite characters (as are Dany and Tyrion, as dull as their chapters have gotten) so is one of the least likely to ever be killed off, or at least not until the very end of the series.

That's a good point as well.

this article is full of spoilers, in fact there's a huge *spoiler warning* at the top of the page. that gives people "the okay" to go ahead and discuss the books. if you don't like spoilers, don't go reading things that say they have spoiler in them as the rest of us might like to discuss it.

reasonably sure that Old Nan bit it when Winterfell fell. I think Bran refers to having seen her dead in one of his chapters. Not sure which book.

i imagine most people just use the canned stuff (cream of mushroom). the idea of casserole grosses me out on a general level though (and i thusly avoid it), so I don't know for sure (we just do fresh green beans with olive oil, a little salt/pepper and fresh garlic).

an excellent list! Also if you can get a hold of the Hitchhiker's Guide as Read by Douglas Adams himself, it's a real treat (our library had a copy, not sure if it's readily available anymore).

omg, i loved that movie! my parents had it on those mini vhs tapes and we watched it (and the beatles' yellow submarine, the muppets take manhattan and the pirates of penzannce) on long car rides.

Snuff was kind of disappointing -mostly b/c pratchett caved to fan pressure and wrote another Vimes book instead of a moist von lipvig book like he was initially intending. The Vimes storyline is largely ended with THUD!, but the rest of the books are great. I even found his "young adult" books to be really good (the

sockdreams.com has excellent socks! but then i get excited when i can wear super-hero socks :)

the thing that bothered me most about this episode was the GOD AWFUL cgi wolves. they were so distractingly bad -from the integration, to the models and the animation. I could have gotten over the bad composition (it is, after all, once upon a time) but the modeling and creature animation were down right awful. They

oh man, a Guillermo del Toro OZ would be amazing. all practical effects and flying, tentacled nightmare monkeys.

not defending per se- it would just be more interesting to hear the other side's opinion. I would also take Aragorn over Jaime- he's not completely human, he was a ranger for many years (so probably just as wily) and he has a magic elvish sword. plus if anyone is wearing mithril, the advantage goes lotr.

Glamdring is also known as "The Foe-hammer" (and by the goblins, it is called "Beater") and is a two handed broadsword (which is a huge difference from the dirk Sting that Bilbo uses as a sword). The sword itself (in elvish) reads: "Turgon, king of Gondolin wields, has, and holds the sword Glamdring, Foe of Morgoth's
