I will always think of him as Sean from Scrubs. Arlene definitely saved that plot line because it was stupid and otherwise useless, though at least the Ifrit didn't leave another unnecessary body lying about. It did serve in a small way to bring Lala back into the thick of things, since he is *easily* the best part

the guy in the cap is Kevin and I think he talks funny b/c he got his throat ripped out by a were-panther in season 3.

the female officer is (i believe) named Kenya. She was introduced in the second season (possibly even the first? it's been awhile since I saw it.), was annoyed when Jason was made a deputy in the 3rd season, and just went about being quietly competent for most of season 4/5. She used to have really short hair.

yeah i was so hoping that Blake was going to end up as Nightwing during the whole of "Rises" . I kept squeaking it at my husband excitedly whenever he was on screen. He would make an excellent Nightwing.

totally agree! though if moffat is leaving, maybe this season will be the last of her (we can hope).

me too! I love re-watching that episode.

paleolithic man also didn't eat any bread, let alone bread with gluten in it. The paleo diet is a misnomer-ish fad. I'll grant you that there's some merit to the idea of the diet, I just hate the name. It's proponents claim they can't eat gluten on it, but do eat almonds (and similar nuts) which were NOT part of the

it's not so much a food allergy as an intolerance- your body either doesn't make the enzyme to handle it or can't break it down. Trust me that *if* I could eat gluten (and dairy w/o necessary enzymes) without INTENSE gastrointestinal distress (like hanging out in the bathroom for the rest of an evening) I totally

I also have Celiac's and being an enterprising at-home cook/baker, I've found LOTS of blogs (just do a google search) with fabulous recipes for GF stuff (like pizza). The only thing that sucks about it, is the different GF flours are kind of expensive (it's cheaper to buy online).

It seems like a fair assumption- though they did try that fake out episode with 10 ("the next doctor") so I guess it could go another way.

hmm. it just feels really short to *me*-not that it is in fact shorter. I mean I guess they can't stay on as long as Baker, but it would be nice of Smith hung around a bit longer. I think perhaps because the last season felt kind of rushed? It *would* be nice if they did a female doctor next though...

is it just me, or does it feel like they're moving through doctors too fast? I know they did the hand-wavy thing about how he can now regenerate more than 12 times, but it still seems like too soon to kill him off, just b/c (if that rumor is true anyway) Moffat is stepping down.

it's sort of a neat idea, but seems like an awful waste of trees. would have been more interesting if they'd made it out of shrubberies (hedges) or something sustainable, frankly. also if there was a minotaur sculpture at the heart of it and you needed a magic ball of string to get out...

they're going to be in trouble when bahamut shows up. i wish they'd leave poor terry alone. he doesn't need his own stupid storyline with sean from scrubs.

you raise so many good points! too bad the writers didn't think of them for this season :(

re:catwoman with ann hathaway: OMG PLEASE. she was easily far and away the best part of the Dark Knight Rises and if they could pull that off, it would be the best thing ever. Except I'm not sure she has enough villains herself to make it good.

as usual, i love your recaps. this episode was made of total insanity (you seem to have picked up the more lucid bits honestly). I did enjoy the fact that during the vampire night vision/chaos of a coup scene, how bill was desperately crying for eric THE WHOLE time. also when godric appeared, we felt a bit bad for

modern corsets are great if you get one that FITS you. You really need to get a corset custom made to fit your body for it to be comfy, if that sucker hits you in the wrong place (usually your diaphram), they can be truly uncomfortable. you also have to get into them really slowly- lacing too fast can also cause

it looks like it has been somewhat accentuated by someone's mad airbrushing (as in actual body paint airbrushing, not photoshop airbrushing) skillz, but they seem to be real (or an exceptionally well done prosthetic).

this is probably too out there, but I want a Hawks Movie (Hawkman, Hawkgirl/Hawkwoman). It will never happen, but I can wish. Because Hawkgirl is awesome (in the justice league cartoons) and they need more awesome female centric superhero films (I feel like this is a niche DC could *maybe* win at)
