New Orleanians are incredibly resilient, diverse, culture and joy-filled people and many of the assholes down there fighting to save the monuments aren’t New Orleanians. They’re coming in from Slidell, Harvey, bumblefuck LA and all over the country.

I just returned from a trip to Savannah and New Orleans a couple days ago. Savannah is spectacularly beautiful. My first time there—I go to NOLA a lot—and I was mesmerized by how beautiful it is. But I road trip around the south a lot and there are many other great places—Memphis, Charleston, Florence AL are all great.
