I just saw Fences last weekend and both their performances were ridiculously powerful. I think Washington is a lock and I really hope Viola gets it instead of Emma. Such a better performance.

Yeah, Moonlight is worlds apart from the others. Hidden Figures was def better than LaLa Land but still not quite Oscar best picture-worthy. The sum of its parts was greater than its whole if that makes sense.

My experience is the same—I don’t know anyone including all my musical theater-loving friends that were bowled over by it. And many theater and music friends hated it for all the technical flaws and poor singing and dancing. Like HATED it.
