Serial definitely showed how mishandled this case was and The Undisclosed and Serial Dynasty/Truth and Justice podcasts definitely took that several steps further. Undisclosed is slanted in Adnan’s favor, but their research is thorough. Serial Dynasty/T&J started out as a ‘truth seeking’ mission, and they have showed

After listening to the Undisclosed podcast, I am much less convinced that he’s guilty. I mean he still could be for all I know, but the prosecutors and detectives did so many shady things that weren’t even revealed in Serial. It is easy to see that they weren’t after the truth, they were after a closed case.

Adnan is not black. There was also a serial killer who profiled Asian women out of jail at that time in 1999. There is so little tying Adnan to this case. He and Hai were friends.

He’s got that Jim Bob Duggar “sometimes I take a poop in my hand and eat it” face

That bothers me so much that even after the PP shooting they’re throwing around that “baby parts” line. Ugh

The worst part is, even with it being proven fake, even with the people who created it being sued, and even with people turning themselves in. They still won the war. That video has been used- and will continue to be used to attack women's rights.

I feel like that would leave you with precious little free time, Demon

Abortion is health care.

Google her. For fuck’s sake! Her career does not need a boost!

I personally don’t lean towards innocence or guilt, because how can anyone know for certain with how much that investigation was fucked up. Even the evidence that Ken Kratz (barf barf barf) thinks is so awesome that the documentary left out does not convince me. But that lawyer is pretty damn smart for mentioning that

Good thing that social media doesn’t decide innocence or guilt. RATIONAL people are upset because he didn’t get a fair trial.

Something that bothers me about all of the coverage of Daniel Holtzclaw is that I haven’t seen and heard enough about the gorgeous human being who brought him to justice: Jannie Ligons. I’ve endured every angle of Holtzclaw’s rage-y, deflated mug, and haven’t heard enough about the first police complaint, the first

How about using his mugshot like every other major news outlet?

So so agree. I was an attorney for children’s services in NYC and the poverty and completely disproportionate effect on minority families is just heartbreaking. It always struck me too that no matter how bad things were at home, if you asked a kid where they wanted to go it’s always with mommy and daddy. And removals

demonizing anyone who uses social services like food stamps, telling the rest of the privileged masses that these people on assistance are the ones robbing them blind, and not the downright evil people in power.

Someday we as a country are going to have to recognize that our incessant worship of money, and well off/rich people has led us down a really fucked up path. Poverty is the root of so many of our societal ills, and people will do ANYTHING to avoid talking about it and it’s effects directly. It doesn’t take a rocket

Or, if she already has steady, reliable income... maybe make sure she can go to work without worrying about childcare options.

It’s typically a way of expressing how sad we are. Do you really think I *actually* stood up, got a huge glass of wine, and proceeded to drink it? Silly, it’s only 4:30, and I’ve got two toddlers to tend to. But it’d be a way to cope with a story about children who have been so betrayed by a system allegedly set up to

“a very specific kink in political reasoning: the idea that a system that seeks to increase the wellbeing of poor children should be separated from the welfare of poor parents”
