You haven’t considered this: many games in the pre patch era were shipped broken but were never addressed because the likely hood of said game breaking bug was so small it wouldn’t be “worth it” to fix it.

Honestly anyone who bitches about patches hasn’t considered the alternative: games being recalled, IF the publisher decides to, and having to wait in the mail for your fixed game.
