They are quite a ton better than ICE for most people. But the price premium and consumer ignorance is what is keeping things as they are. Hence why EVs tend to have the highest customer satisfaction. Because once people experience an EV, its hard to go back.

What 7k Cali rebate? The 7k is for hydrogen cars and only for low income too.

Premium cars are the easiest to go electric and their price would not be that much different. Just look at the Tesla Model 3 which is about same class as BMW 3 series/5 series. And it costs about same if not slightly cheaper.

World population growth has been slowing.

Couldn’t sell is a relative word. Maybe if they actually made DESIRABLE cars instead of compliance cars.

Except Tesla had way less money to work with than the big automakers. So their ability to invest isn’t as big. Despite that, Tesla and Panasonic probably output as much automotive batteries in kwh as everyone else combined.

And this is why everyone has been skeptical of big autos entry into EVs. They were too slow to get into battery production. They should have been focused on the supply chain ages ago.

That’s nice but your own charts point out your arguments flaws. Why does US require 4.1X earths while france require 2.5x earth? an almost 2X difference?

To note a few things:

That is relative. Part of why consumers are not buying “clean” vehicles is because manufacturers are half-assing them (because most of their profit at this point comes from ICE, so they don’t want fast EV adoption), you have to actually make GOOD “clean” vehicles.

No, he simply thinks he can stop progress by throwing out ridiculous strawman arguments he doesn’t expect to be implemented.

Why do people throw out this ridiculous strawman argument?

I’m quite curious on why they think the pooling agreement with Tesla won’t cut it? FCA sells about 1 million cars in Europe. Tesla sells slightly above 100k cars in europe. But it’ll probably be closer to 300,000 in 2021. That should be enough to get them under 95g/km. And that is not considering FCA may add their own

“In best position” means virtually nothing if you aren’t actually following said position. Effectively, they are forcing them to adapt by either investing in cleaner and more efficient vehicles or lose that money in fines.

They don’t need to stop driving pickup trucks. They simply need to be driving more efficient pickup trucks. Like hybrid at least. Though this is EU, not US.

Well, the 1st people might have something to do for 5 days. Specifically, hit all the guineas records they can come up with.

Up to 5 days in this context means you can choose to be in orbit up to 5 days. It can be less if you don’t wish to stay in orbit that long. I mean wishing to visit space doesn’t necessarily mean you wish to be up there for a long time. Maybe once the Bigelow space hotel is done, some “might” want to stay there longer,

It all depends where you drive. LA where they are has a lot of pot holes can do a number on your tires.

To be fair, they operate in LA which is one of the worst cities for pot holes.

Considering this is a 1st year production model and the Model X is considered relatively the worst reliability compared to other Tesla models, it didn’t do that bad.
