The thing about that is the fuel economy standard is pretty soft on trucks. Their best selling truck, the Silverado gets about 20-21 mpg. So they would only need to improve 2-3 mpg by 2025. Not that much of an issue.
But they outsold MINI, JEEP and HONDA. Sure they might not rank up there as a brand, but do note they only have a few models of cars (Model S, X and 3).
Why are you comparing a small battery vs a small fuel cell? Again, fuel cell costs increase dramatically the more KW output. And a ship needs a lot of KW. In comparison, after the fixed cost, battery prices are pretty linear.

That is a MYTH. Most of a cars pollution isn’t during production but from driving. Overall, a new car would break even vs a used car in about 1-2 years. Of course that depends on the mpg of the car.
