The numbers are based on average driving per year, not 20k.

That is a myth, that is because most pollution of an ICE car comes from driving it, not manufacturing it.

That isn’t true. For an ICE car, the majority of its emissions is during driving, not manufacturing. So even if you replace them with a new EV, you would still have a lot lower emissions.

1st gear: Chargers? sure. Incentives for the poor? Sure. But I don’t think a general rebate is the way to go for mass market. Revenue Neutral Carbon tax is a much better way to go.

3rd gear: I’m not sure why anyone thought it’ll be cheap to produce in China. 1st of all, the factory just started so the costs would be

1) If there are manufacturing defects, most of them will become apparent during the 1st owner driving and would be addressed under warranty or goodwill by the time they get to the used car market.

Lithium is EXTREMELY plentiful. There is no shortage of it other than production plants. Otherwise, availability is more than abundant.

Even Fox is saying positive things on Tesla. I guess they simply couldn’t find any wrongs to nitpick.

Tesla historically had pretty good resale value. So I doubt they will have any problems selling their older cars. The same concern was said for the Model S and old Model S sell pretty well.

Except you forgot to mention 1 important fact. Tesla sells their cars to consumers while other automakers sell to franchised dealers.

Even if you take away the credits for this quarter, Tesla is still profitable.

More BS. LADWP has been REDUCING coal purchases. There have been no delays of closing IPP either.

You went back to lying about the credits?

So you got caught lying about the credits and now changing subject to the debt?

Didn’t you say 2 days ago Tesla was going to lose billions?

1) Cars are getting more expensive year by year, but part of that is also due to people wanting more from cars. This isn’t limited to safety, people also want better infotainment systems, automatic folding mirrors and etc. Aka, premium features moving downmarket. There is also inflation.

1) Even people who buy new cars don’t truly get to customize their car unless you special order. You end up buying whatever the dealer has on their lot. The dealer can order one for you or get you one from another lot but that means you end up paying more.

A new car is rarely a responsible purchase as a car looses its value just driving off the lot. You are better off buying even 1 year used over a new car. But hey, there are plenty of cheap enough cars like a honda insight which can be gotten for 20k.

With cars getting heavier and heavier, pedestrians are more and more likely to be killed in an accident.

The one who owned Faraday’s technology left the company, so what is there to buy other than a dead name?

I call it Faraway future.
