My son was six when this came out and had seen some of the other movies at home, but got a little freaked out by some of the scarier scenes, so I didn’t take him to this one either. I saw it, drove home, told him and my wife to get dressed, and drove right back to the theater with them. I watched him instead of the

Peggy: “I’ve been waiting for you.”

My wish is that if they do see each other at the end, her first words to him are: “Ready for that dance?”

The fact that one of the Endgame trailers prominently featured a voiceover from Hayley Atwell in Winter Soldier would seem to telegraph a Peggy Carter appearance. And yes, I will cry my damn eyes out when that happens.

I have a ‘my dog didn’t die, he just went to live on a farm upstate’ vision in my head of how Steve’s arc in the MCU will end, and if it actually comes to be, I will join you in said blubbering.

The grenade scene is one of the best scenes in the MCU. It worked doubly because of the build up and with Jones and Tucci.

As good as this moment is, because of the recurring line, I would actually go with Steve throwing himself on the grenade. This scene shows his tenacity and willingness to fight the good fight - the grenade scene shows just how truly selfless he is. Plus you get the reactions from everyone around, including Tucci and

Tucci plays his small role incredibly well in this movie, imo, and deserves more plaudits for that.

In fact, forget the superhero cinematic universe!

I hear Ed Norton and Terrence Howard are setting up their own superhero cinematic universe, with blackjack and hookers.

I have a ton of admiration for RDJ. Not least of which being that he’s been made into a massive star by the Marvel franchise, but he’s the furthest thing from an egomaniac. It probably helps that he had such a troubled history pre-Iron Man, and it’s made him a generally humble and generous guy.

Hi Robert. Welcome to the AV Club.

It’s definitely a problem that many people have. There should be a support group.

Oh, he’s obnoxious as fuck in those old movies. WAY worse in Back To School, too. But that was his job! lol

I had an unreasoning hatred of RDJ for most of my life. It wasn’t until I re-watched Weird Science as an adult that I realized he’d done such a good job at playing his role as “guy I fucking hate” in that movie that I’d formed a subconscious bias against him before I’d learned to suspend my disbelief while watching

I too am attracted to Gwyneth Paltrow. I crushed on her hard during the Shakespeare in Love years.

Same. It’s really annoying.

Of all my many, many embarrassments, the most embarrassing is that I am attracted to Gwyneth Paltrow.

Looking back, this was a remarkable risky project. A relatively inexperienced director (primarily known as a “that guy” actor), a star with a troubled history who still had yet to shake off the “high risk” tag he’d earned by doing all the drugs in Southern California and a character that, while not completely unknown,

Now playing

I hope this biography spends at least 20 minutes covering his guest appearance on Space Ghost Coast to Coast:
