"News flash - unless you spent thousands of dollars (well outside of the production cost of a console) it probably isn't going to play anything, at all. "
Maybe, but The Phantom Pain is probably going to be a bigger world than GTAV ever could be. There's a reason they split it up. It'd probably take up 3 blu-ray discs just for TPP alone.
I don't see how that could be. The new hardware will let us developers do more. This first year is honestly no different than the first year of the Xbox 360, the PS2, or PS1/Saturn. My memory is also a little hazy on the first years of NES and SNES, but both were pretty scarce there too. Called a cycle for a reason.
That's a pretty callous and narrow minded view. Did you ever stop to think of the distraction that girls provide to boys? And "boys are distracting idiots" is a generalization if I ever saw one. I remember quite a few girls in high school who only cared about their hair or their nails or their boyfriends and didn't…
Eh, no. People are people and especially kids are kids. Girls and boys only schools enforce shitty ideas that we are different when it comes to learning, and teaches kids to act differently towards each other just based on gender. It's fucking idiotic.
honestly tho, gta5 is more next gen than any next gen game out right now, imo
So unless you can shoot to the top of a building in a couple of seconds then find yourself clear across the world in less than a minute on a PS3 openworld game then think again.
Um is TLUS an open world gmae where it has to stream in data on the fly. When you have a focused effort like TLUS and Uncharted you can do more with your animations as you can have much more complicated rigs since you're not rendering massive environments and trying to leave a small foot print of memory open for hte…
Uh, have you see TLUS? The facial animations on there are on-par with Second Son at minimum. And no sane person would expect PS4-level graphics on a last gen system, but all that stuff can clearly be doneon PS3, at some price.
Sure, I understand that. I'm just saying there's nothing that looks truly next-gen, that would make jumping to these consoles clear-cut, for the foreseeable future.
Visually, yeah. But that game could definitely be ported to PS3. It'd look terrible but there's nothing in the gameplay (besides some destructable stuff) that doesn't look like it'd port well to PS3.
Ditto...I can spend 500 bucks upgrading my PC and making it top of the line again, or 500 on an Xbox One...and not use it. I think I'll upgrade my PC.
Next gen has never brought revolutionary changes from the get-go and upgrading your PC won't do that for you either. Devs are just beginning to find their feet.
Yeeeaaahh, I'm definitely going to plonk down a couple grand for a good gaming PC. My 200+ Steam library demands it.
probably gta6
Even with that, Titanfall runs on everything. Even old-ass core 2 duos! And it's running on a modified but old-as-hell Source engine. I think it's going to be a while before we see games that are truly "next-gen", games that are night-and-day above (and better) than the current releases.
Nothing about the new systems are next gen. Their graphics are what PCs have been doing for the last 3 or 4 years and NOTHING had changed with the game play. Just look at Second Son. Yea, it's pretty looking and runs great, but it's the same old boring and repetitive game play we've had for the last 15 some years.…
Even the games that LOOKED next-gen don't seem to be really next-gen (Second Son). The takeaway I'm getting from all this is that I need to upgrade my PC.
This piece is so weird.
