Think of it another way, here was a black lesbian woman, who was written in such a way that none of those things mattered to her character.

I can kind of agree with the Japanese characters bit, but I didn’t find any sort of “shock value” about H’s reveal. Was it also sexist because she turned out to be a woman? Homophobic because she was gay?
Ok. I just think people who do that are fucking dicks.
You had to hear about it? Someone out there is forcing you to click on Game of Thrones articles? Are you being held against your will?
So, what you’re saying is, it actually wasn’t “nuff said” then?
My point is that I’ve also had that reaction to things before and I didn’t feel the need to shout it from the roof tops.
That kid’s going to live with her at least 18 years. Missing out on a couple hours of “quality time” (whatever the fuck that is) isn’t going to hurt anyone.
You sound like a real smug piece of shit. I hope you’re not a parent.
nuff said
I try not to shit on other people’s enjoyment, but if you’re asking honestly why this book gets so much hate, it’s because it’s pandering and, to some extent, insulting to exactly the group of people it’s targeting. It’s trying to get by on barely realized pop culture literacy, but it doesn’t actually have anything…
I didn’t like the book either, but I don’t recall anything particularly racist about it. What exactly are you referring to?
As opposed to the way that people in the ‘80s were obsessed with the ‘40s and ‘50s? Or the way the ‘90s were obsessed with the ‘60s? Or the way the noughties were obsessed with the ‘70s? Or how we’re obsessed with the ‘80s today?
Not particularly. If the references don’t entertain you, then there’s nothing there for you.
Look, I didn’t like the book either, but for fuck’s sake let people enjoy things.
Not surprising. The book was basically 90% nerd references wrapped around the barest thread of a narrative.
This was very much my experience as well, and one of the main reasons I ended up ditching the XB1 eventually.
Beat me to it.
I agree, I ended up selling my XB1 since most of the good games on that system are on PC as well. That’s where I play most games, but the PS4 has been worth having for the exclusives.
Because of how fast they fly, it would be smarter to get as many explosives (see: wildfire) launched into the sky as possible to strike the dragon and knock it to the ground, which would make it easier to use slower, more powerful weapons to kill it.
No, it absolutely was not. The actual statute has been quoted and explained here ad nauseum. If you’d like to explain your legal argument, such as it may be, then please do, but standing there with your fingers in your ears and saying “nuh uh, nuh uh, I’m right and you’re wrong” is not an argument. It’s inane…
