Mark Rylance was how I just about snatched the win for our Oscar sweepstakes. (That and purposefully voting for Mad Max in every category it was nominated for.)

I think Carney gets a bit of rough deal from the audience, but Dorian's been painfully underwritten, which isn't really his fault. There's been glimpses of more to him -like that scene where he was talking to Vanessa whilst she was getting her portrait taken- where he had a sort of unnerving, empty look, which have me…
Oooh, this trailer was awesome. Who was that crawling forward to Vanessa at 0:47?
Thanks for sharing that, it was delightful.
I switched my Oscar predictions to Mad Max in all categories it has been nominated in (except Visual Effects, which it should win but wont) just to spite a coworker who hates it.
I really, really don't see it with this film. These women had guns, and the one hand to hand fight between a man and a woman is an all out scrap where both have some disadvantages, but ultimately he had more. What do they do that is so unbelievable? Shoot well? Drive? Look through binoculars?
I fully recommend it, with the usual disclaimer that it starts a little shaky but picks up beautifully as it sheds its less steady elements and gets to what it wants to be.
Watching 'Teeth' in a cinema filled with screaming dudes was one of my favourite cinema experiences of all time.
God help me I already regret asking, but in which scene did skinny girls beat the piss out of grown men?
Well, you said the magic words (Twin Peaks) so I'm going to have to check out the Les Revenants/The Returned titles. I also love Mogwai, so I have no idea why I haven't already seen this show.
The second season 'Mozart in the Jungle' openers were a huge, huge step up from the first season, I'm glad to see them get a look in here.
Every time I watch Fury Road I like Hardy's performance more. I understand the argument that the film is essentially Furiosa's, with Max folk hero-ing his way through the middle, but I feel like Hardy was the perfect fit.
Nah, we've got plenty of those.
I'll take some over none!
The first season was the best, so I'm glad they're going for that focused vibe.
Just here to heap more praise on to this great track. I get crap for listening to it but I will not stop putting it on playlists because it works for everything.
I know! I think it would have easily taken first place had it been eligible, given his high praise.
Well that explains it, then. You just (rightly) recognised you'd seen the zenith of the medium and nothing would top it. That seems fair.
Yesssss.
I suspect the username is one of those things that seemed like a great pun at the time, but even I no longer remember why, or even why it is a pun, which renders it meaningless.
