I realize he doesn’t have an engineering degree, but the man is an engineer in my eyes. As I understand, he helps solve technical problems by offering his insight, just as an engineering manager does.

No, he’s saying that in different thermal environments, the two materials will expand at different rates, yielding gaps where there should be none.
Those reviews are genuine.
What’s more, r/WallStreetBets just proved that you can effectively crowdsource enough capital to essentially magic a hedge fund into existence for a brief period of time to engage in fiscal vigilantism.
How “inorganic” when somebody gives 1 star to an application that sold their shares without consent in order to save their buddies in Wall Street.
Yeah, if I remember correctly, he contributed to the “Tesla Deathwatch” blog (and got egg on his face from Tesla not only surviving, but doing much better than they predicted), so there seems to be some kind of long running grudge against Tesla for some reason the colors all his commentary. If Munro might be biased…
Welcome to the new Internet: just like the old Internet, but faster and with more dishonest opinions.
I really appreciate your writing, but giving a crackpot former blogger from TTAC (of all places) the title of “Automotive Journalist” is a little much.
Am I reading this right? Niedermeyer has issues with Munro being critical of Tesla but also owning Tesla stock? How was he ‘pumping their stock’ by saying “The new Tesla is less shit than the old Tesla”?
I heard that he couldn’t afford the taxes on it as a private residence (because he was crazy in debt when he bought it, shocker) & that’s why he turned it into a club. Membership fees.
His whole Mar-a-Lago story was a big con. He wanted to buy the property but he lowballed the owners who refused to sell. He then threatened to buy a plot of oceanfront property directly in front of Mar a Lago and build there, which would have ruined their view and beach access. This was the same tactic he used to buy…
I’m going to a classic taking from another list:
And some would argue that its a purer form of art than any design that Stephenson’s ever sold.
Wat you said is why I love the Cybertruck.
It’s not stamped. It’s cold rolled steel that is bent, and - I believe - welded at the bends, which is part of the reason it’s so planar. Elon stated they had to avoid stamping because it would break the machines (as you said).
I also think that the aesthetics were more driven by the manufacturing elements. Use cold-rolled steel and make that the entire exterior (ie., no body-on-frame). And then to cut the cold-rolled steel into shapes that were easier to fit together. My guess is that these elements dictated the design, and didn’t really…
Interesting. I work with a bunch of people that already have one preordered and the cash set aside for the dual and trimotors. Anecdotes be like that sometimes.
The best part is they have another 120 ton prototype basically ready to go after they have reviewed the data from this test, and SN10 isn’t much farther behind that. They aren’t just testing a rocket they are testing an entire assembly line and manufacturing process for them
It’s cool to hate ELON here. Its like some sort of car-incel thing where everyone is raging jealous that he created a successful car company.. and a rocket company.
I just posted on another thread, but this was a *brand new*, super MASSIVE rocket, using new fuels, built in a freaking field using tents, in a matter of months? I was seriously amazed it even got off the ground! I was absolutely expecting it to get a few feet off the ground, then drop back down and collapse in a far…
