I always liked their relationship (and how their competing allegiances essentially broke them up), but the Mark Harmon Secret Service guy always felt forced to me.

Blade Runner-I could never get more than halfway through it at home (I know I know) but seeing a BluRay rerelease finally got me to just bathe in the first half before the plot kicks in. Also a college age girl a few rows in front of me gasped at Harrison fords shirtless scene haha.

I was 7 but yeah it speaks to how strong Spielbergs reputation was that parents would think 'well, this is something the kids HAVE to see'

God do I want the drunk rocket launcher wielding Muldoon sequences from that book on film.

Yup its just good simple film making-knowing how huge the scale would get the audience needs an easy way to track the characters.

Same with T2-although that had another advantage in that 'liquid metal' is gonna look strange by definition.

Interesting side note-Spielberg didnt have absolute faith in CGI so he had the model builing team come up with usuable raptors. Eventually he changed his mind, but the cg designers used the practical models to design the creatures.

I still cant believe my parents let then 7 year old me watch it. That was the first movie I really remeber being blown away by and the first one I saw multiple times in the theater.

Erik Adams and I had the exact same experience in the exact same place. You didnt by any chance see Grindhouse at the Lansing NCG did you? haha

Alison Janney-National Treasure.

Not a very high bar though.

Yup 13 Hours might be Bays best actual movie. (as opposed to most entertaining which is Armageddon). Its a little to preachy early on, but once the bullets start flying it really clicks. Say what you want about Bay but the man can direct an action sequence.

The scene of him delivering a monologue in one uncut shot is the best piece of acting in any Bay movie. Damning with feint praise, but still.

The best option would be to roll Rainbow Six into this. Of course Hollywood isnt that smart.

A spy show set in the 80s about the Cold War?? in 2016???? No one will watch that!!

He….asked her?

Best.Possible.Casting.

Even as a straight guy I appreciate Merriweathers choice of male actors since they arent the generic 'Male rom/com lead straight male studio execs THINK a woman would find attractive'

Or that Gillian Jacobs didnt get cast in this instead of her….

Its not the money, its what you do with it.
