New No-No! If HBO renews Bill Maher for two more seasons then I should be able to add two new seasons to the year!

I actually disagree. Slowly CC has built up a stable of excellent programs with Broad City, Nathan For You, Review, Key and Peele, Kroll Show, Amy Schumer, and Drunk History. That's almost all of their shows and all of them have gotten at least second seasons. What you say was true three years ago, but its clear they…
I miss Ugly Americans. Well, not really, but it was thoroughly ok, not a steaming pile like this.
Yes it is!
You're right. I was a bit hyperbolic there. Episode 5 is not bad. Jack and his wife's story is increadbly powerful, as were the visuals. I knew this show was probably not for me as I'm not into killer stories and not really into gore, but there is A LOT to like here.
I'm making my way through the first season as well. No spoilers here. I found the four episodes following the pilot to be kind of bad. The killer of the week stuff was CBS procdural-quality, the Abigail stuff is a total drag, and I find Freddy to be an awful character. But last night I tore through eps 6-8 and I'm…
Unfortunately, no.
What does everyone think of the Lauren Lapkus podcast so far? For me, it's been a bit of a disappointment. The first ep was great, along with the Rad Dad one, but the rest… eh. Laurens a fantastic improviser but I feel like you really need someone around to push her characters into absurd directions.
Is this an episode of Talkin' 'bout Turtle?
How you weigh?
This needs to stop. You have a problem AVClub, I'm worried about you.
I don't even need to press play to know that this is the whitest thing of all time.

I think this season was certainly more consistent than the last few, but nothing really reached the height of the console wars trilogy of last season. I would say there was one stand out episode in Cock Magic, the rest range from OK to pretty good.
This was a weird review. It seemed the writer expected some kind of Ferguson commentary in this sketch show. K&P can do social commentary and it can be great but silly fun has always been front and center, IMO. What's wrong with with silly fun?
Yes. What also impresses me is the online integration. This game came out like six years ago, but I would say it does the seamless open world multiplayer stuff as good or better than games out today.
I'll just take this as a chance to tell people to listen to improv4humans. I was indifferent to it as a whole, but that show has really made me appreciate it. I still don't understand the concept of improv classes, though.
Thanks to a recent PSN sale I got Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning for $2.99. The game looked painfully generic and kind of lame, but I couldn't resist at that price. I've put about 5 hours into it so far and (besides for a bug where my screen would shake every 5 seconds) I've been enjoying it quite a bit. The combat is…
Pocket Casts is the way to go. It's like $3, but 100% worth it.
