Honestly I think it only works for big fake breasts. As a b-cup, most of my boobs would be covered or would just fall out even though I’m fairly perky. An a-cup would basically have nothing to show. You need enough breast to show off and for them to somehow not require support 

That thing looks like it would work for small breasts and big fake breasts only. Cute for looking sexy and sitting around, of course, which is what they do quite a lot of the day.

I think people are also reacting to the fact that something they lived through is old enough for people to be nostalgic about it. This happens with every generation.
