That curmudgeon guy is John Simon, the writer of the review cited here.

That's a fantastic, yet sad sketch. Bravo to the creators of it.

Huh, didn't know there was a prior version he had been working on before.

And that is the book I am reading now, passed the halfway point a little while ago. A lot of stuff does happen in just the first half, especially in the World War 2 scenes.

Well, yay to a version of the first collection, or sequence of films that might explore those years. Pretty interesting stuff. Although I got thrown off by the second collection and not certain if I should continue that book.

See The Librarians if you haven't...

Oh my gosh, Bizarro World...both the song and dance.

This is strange...Luke running around screaming, "Remember Alderran" and "Down with the Empire". Cute change with Mark Hamil, impersonations, and singing as well! Oh my gosh, he danced. Crazy Luke.

Welcome to Bizarro World. Probably the 80s.

This was probably Bicentennial Barbie, right? The jacket almost looks like velour or something like that.

She was from the 80s, wasn't she? Or late 70s. Slightly disco/Star Wars wannabe here.

I do admit it's a bit of an elegant style, queen of the night/evil type of thing. Bit over the top, though, but that's Barbie.

Yeah, it's weird. Part of me wonders if this Barbie is from the 50s or something like that. I don't know if there are any links as to what eras these Barbies came from. It looks sort of like classic 50s Barbie, but maybe it's from a later decade with the more Goth, low-cut skirt, and the magazines are a bit of a joke.

Originally, just seeing this picture, I thought she was going to be the evil Stepmother Barbie from Disney's Cinderella. It looks similar, but more goth.

You're right. Unfortunately, I saw almost all of Gracepoint, hoping that it would be different somehow, because the writers had promised a different ending. Some of it was different and a bit clichéd/horrible in that manner of portrayal, and then when I saw the show leading in the direction of the original Broadchurch

Poor Earl, he just can't catch a break.

Oh, that would be so awesome-almost like the dragon that people thought dinosaur bones were.

Hehe, rereading the book now as well and skipped some of the math as well, with one of the most boring parts being the cathode ray/pixel/rasterizing and RIST 9303/memome discussions that luckily goes on to something more interesting...

Right, plus all of the homework they had to do as well as attending classes, and then just dealing with life in general...they couldn't handle/deal with emergencies on a regular, nonstop basis, and sometimes the bad guys also had to delay their plans for awhile/wait for everything to be set up properly.

For me, there's 'The Writer's Tale' by Russell T. Davies, who was the showrunner and one of the main writers on Doctor Who from 2005-2009, and it details his email correspondence with a magazine writer doing a piece on him that became a bit blow-by-blow of how Russell developed the 4th series and 2009 specials.
