If I know I'll like a game, I'll buy it.

Sounds like the constant debate between punishment based dog training and reward based systems.

Now we're getting into semantics, but yes I agree with you. No game will ever be realistic when it comes to war, because you could never simulate being under fire while sitting on your couch in your underwear. No game will ever make you intimately aware of what it's like to have your life constantly on the line.

Where did I contradict myself?

To be fair, you don't know the kids and how they are. ESRB ratings are also guidelines, parents always have final say. Besides, Call of Duty isn't graphic at all, you'll see worse on day time television.

I've recently been stepping up my game as Engineer, since I used to rarely use it. My playstyle is like that of a chameleon, I play whatever is needed for my team. I don't have a default class I use, although Medic is my favourite (mmm points). I used to suck pretty hard as an Engineer, but now I do things like

The only thing realistic about BF is the equipment you use.

So you're specifically talking about fanboys who rode the CoD bandwagon, then left it for the BF3 bandwagon? If you're only referring to a specific sect of fanboys, you should probably not group them together with everyone else.

Maybe you just got lucky each time to be the final hit? Not saying I don't believe you, but I feel like if they added a new feature of 'shoot the treads for an instant disable', it would be widely known. Because it would be a pretty big deal and drastically change the game.

... Except I already explained that anyone who originally said BF was realistic is not a fanboy, but is a moron. BF has never been realistic. Ever.

... K? Hitting the treads or 'under' (which is basically impossible) the tank doesn't do any extra damage, or insta-disable a tank. The OP seemed to be under this assumption, all I'm doing is correcting him.

Ah, I can see what you mean, but anyone with any sort of intelligence will quickly realize that having an Engineer gives you double the uptime, I don't expect it'll change that much. The disabling feature will change more than this regen, but sadly Kotaku did not mention the mechanic.

You are aware that all the BF games before Bad Company (excluding Modern Combat) have only been on PC, right? And that the following has not disappeared, right? I expect it to sell most on PC, probably by a fair amount.

I'm pretty sure 64 player MP with 20+ vehicles including tanks, jets, and choppers is the reason most people are interested in BF3. The game isn't and never has been realistic, so whoever is saying that aren't BF fanboys, they're just morons.

I don't think they've changed that. They take more from the sides/rear than the front, but that's it. The disabling mechanic is a new thing, and there's no special trick to disabling a vehicle.

It does.

Actually they're promoting good play. Keeping your tank alive for a long period involves backing off when you take a lot of damage. This feature gets you back into the fight faster.

I don't know who was calling BF3 realistic. You heal with an AoE medpack, have regenerating health regardless, repair vehicles with a blowtorch, and can revive by being defibrillator'd. ArmA is realistic, BF3 is concentrated awesome.

Took you guys a while to pick that up, they posted that a long time ago (a week is a long time on the internet!).

Maybe she likes armour and a shield? Maybe she's operating in a different capacity in FFXIII-2? Maybe it was a gift? Maybe she killed a homeless man and stole it? Who says she needs it?
