Especially on Kauai. The massive wild chicken population - due to the last hurricane setting tons free - helps a LITTLE bit with the roaches.
It’s one reason a couple of the islands have huge feral chicken populations. Cockroaches are apparently delicious, if you’re a chicken.

I live about 30 miles from that airport and every time I mow my lawn, I see thousands of them in the grass trying to run away from the mower. We had some in a car as well. Not many, but it was enough to convince us to get rid of our TDI early. The wife simply wouldnt drive it anymore after she saw a few.
