I don’t know, as I make twice that and didnt finish college. Although, my employer has a internship program and I would have to think after they graduate they make at least that.

I guess depends where you live. $60k is not an unusually high paying first big boy job where I live. 

Right, but that’s not the majority of graduates. I looked it up and the average was $50,944 in 2018. 

Difference here is that the distinction between models is literally just a few lines of code, which they have added. It wouldn’t be a “terrible short sighted” mod if it weren’t for Tesla’s reaction to it.

Unfortunately it is not how the future is heading. Instead of ownership, it becomes licensing. Remember the thing about music CDs back in a day? That we own the medium, but not the content? Software as a service is currently very popular and hardware as service is getting traction.

Often the CPU thing is a result of binning though, so one or both of said cores were defective, making it a perfectly fine 6-core chip.

Tesla is moving to a subscription model for enabling software add ons. That’s one way for them to continue making money from cars they have already sold (even from 2nd, 3rd owners, etc.). Many of the performance tweaks are software based, so I can see “performance” becoming a $x/month option.
