Having finally seen BvS I’d strongly agree it’s a failure but it’s a remarkable one - born out of a very specific and misguided vision. And in this world of commercial mediocrity, very weird failures are sometimes laudable.

When the TV movie aired, a contingent of US fanfic writers hopped on board Doctor Who fandom and wow a lot of their output was bondage-themed.

I think they meant “recurring” rather than “regular”, could be a UK TV industry terminology thing.
